DC Comics has announced Challengers of the Unknown, a new limited series written by Christopher Cantwell and illustrated by Sean Isaacs, which sees DC’s team of OG adventurers return on December 18th as they “live on borrowed time.”

This series is part of the DC All In initiative and is an offshoot of Absolute Power and DC All In Special. The shockwave terror of Darkseid has spread throughout the DC Universe, destroying the very fabric of time and space. Surprisingly, there is only one group of super-scientists well-suited to challenge the fate of the universe: the Challengers of the Unknown.

So what is “Challengers of the Unknown” about?

Living on borrowed time, adventurers Ace Morgan, June Robbins, Professor Haley, Red Ryan and Rocky Davis run the day-to-day operations of the Justice League’s Watchtower base in Earth’s orbit, teaming up with Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and the rest of the League to seal the rifts that threaten the galaxy. But a mysterious enemy from the Challengers’ past lurks in the shadows, and its connection to the Dark Side Wave means that not only the Challengers, but the entire DC Universe is living on borrowed time.

The debut issue features a main cover by Mike Deodato Jr., variant covers by series artists Isaacs, Romulo Fajardo Jr., Taurine Clark and Danny Earls, a foil variant cover by Gleb Melnikov and a character design variant cover by Dan Mora. For more information and to pre-order, contact your local comic shop.
