Marvel Comics has announced that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will be adapted into an anime starting in February 2025. The five-issue series, written by Jody Houser and illustrated by Will Sliney, will bring the 2019 film to life. Marvel has had great success with the Mandalorian movie.

“There’s been a resurgence of interest in these characters, especially Kylo Ren, the descendant of Darth Vader,” said editor Mark Panicia. “Jody’s script captures the impact of the film’s iconic moments between heroes and villains, while the art by Will Sliney and dazzling colors by Guru-eFX make this epic finale visually unique. It gives you a great experience.”

So, what is Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker about?

The final battle in the galaxy begins!

As the Resistance struggles against the First Order’s control, Poe Dameron discovers an unimaginable threat on the horizon. With the fate of the galaxy at stake, Rey must find her way to the Sith lair and come into conflict with Kylo Ren! With only hours to act, can our heroes avert the Final Order’s devastation?

New York, NY — November 20, 2024 — Marvel Comics’ historic tradition of Star Wars comic book adaptations continues this February with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The previously announced five-issue limited series, written by Jody Houser and illustrated by artist Will Sliney, finally brings 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker movie to the pages. The series will feature the Resistance’s desperate last stand, Emperor Palpatine’s shocking return, and all new scenes not included in the final film.

This comic version begins Star Wars: Vader’s Legacy, an ongoing new series by Charles Soule and Luke Ross, set between The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker. It shows up just in time. While Legacy of Vader reveals Kylo Ren’s evolution as Supreme Leader of the First Order and his daring exploration of his grandfather’s tragic past, Star Wars: Sky The comic adaptation of “The Rise of Walker” gives fans the opportunity to experience the dramatic conclusion to the character’s journey. A completely new way.
