Mad Cave Studios has announced a new Feminist Horror Limited series that is set to debut this fall. The beat has all the details. The flow, which will debut in September, was written by Paula Sevenbergen. Paula Severbergen is drawn by Claudia Balboni, colored with Fabi Marques and written by Jodi Troutman. The series features variant covers by Aneke and Colleen Doran.
Flow addresses the potential consequences of what happens when young people are taught to feel shame rather than being offered actual sex education. Spanning a heavy dual timeline in body horror, the series explores menstruation, manipulation and ignorance through timely lenses.
Here’s the complete overview:
When she began running on Dara Land’s feet in Nature Camp, she thought she was dying. After her mother’s mysterious death, Dara was homeschooled by her parents’ dad, and was unable to tell her the facts of life. “It’s a curse,” her bankmate said. “But we can lift it up… if you do everything we say.” So, starting their week of pain, the naive Dara did a torture job for their entertainment. But now, ten years from now, when they embark on their careers, the three find themselves cursed in their suffering. They meet again to track down a possible source, Dara of Vengeance. And they chase her to the bloody end.

“I want to share this story, Paula Seven Bergen said, inspired by politicians who want to ban gender and basics about school biology. And 10 years later, their actions are back to plague them. It’s like Carrie encountering the Yellow Jacket. I’m grateful that Mad Cave gave us a complete freedom of story and blood.”
“To portray this story was to portray depth, adventure and quiet introspection. I’m truly grateful for the gentle touch that conveys the raw, prolonged domino effect of the action that Paula films over time. I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with the team of Mad Cave and James B. Emmett, and I can portray the Paula Seven Bargain story.
Flow #1 will be available digitally on September 17th at local comic shops.
