It’s been a while since I last covered the indie comics, the monsters we made. The Passion Project, created by popular YouTuber Coryxkenshin, was first announced after a year’s holiday that ended in December 2024.
Here are the official monsters to create an overview:
“For Jabari Booker, New Edin Academy has promised a future of music and learning, but on his first day, the promise is shattered by nightmares. He finds that true horror awaits him at the end of his broken road.
What monsters do we make?
The Monsters We Make is a creative heartfelt American action horror cartoon by Coryxkenshin. He is celebrated as one of the world’s most important storytellers due to his action games and horror editing, with 21.5 million YouTube channel subscribers and 8.5 billion cumulative video views. The YouTube creator injects storytelling expertise, allowing him to share his creative vision with the world through the medium he loves, while drawing inspiration from the iconic anime Dragon Ball Z to modern titles such as the attacks of Titan.
“The monsters we make are playgrounds to exercise all the ideas and life experiences I’ve gathered from decades of being an audience,” Corey said. “It was the driving force behind this project to scrutinize humanity, create something that makes us check, to inject the representations of black people I wanted to see in this space, and ultimately add a sprinkle of my faith in God. The loads of work were very fun and fulfilling.”
