The Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #2 did a lot. Not only did they have to follow up on the issue of the stellar debut, they also had to head over to the main battles where the issues were central. So does it achieve that goal? In most cases, yes. The Battle Beast is again frustrated after brutally killing a prisoner known as the Colossus. However, the semi-dead prince he saved has a proposition. The Colossus had a sister, Juggernaut (not to be confused with the only enemy of the X-Men).
This will lead the Battle Beasts on a new journey and also give Ryan Ottley an opportunity to draw an entirely new collection of alien creatures. One of the best pages features Battle Beasts and a prince walking into a bustling market filled with a variety of creatures. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes and come with a variety of attachments. Everything was rendered in vibrant colors by Analisa Leoni. As Invincible Fans squints, you can also see some familiar faces, including Gerdarian in the Tech jacket. If this sequence had to be explained in one sentence, it would be “a cantina scene from a new hope of steroids.”
Ottley then outweighs that by throwing the Battle Beast into a competition known as Blood Games. If it sounds very violent, then that’s because. The entire page is characterized by a Battle Beast climbing into ranks, leaving nothing behind him except the corpse and blood. Again, the level of diversity in both the number of alien warriors on display and the way they are graphically killed is incredible. Leoni plays with different colour palettes, bringing different types of organs that cover blood and pages of different colours. And since this is an invincible comic, you can definitely expect a splash page or two splash page that is literally littered with blood.

Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #2 stumbles a little in storytelling. I love the concept that Robert Kirkman throws out there. That’s because it makes the invincible universe truly feel like it. While the Invincible and his fellow superheroes defend the world and conquer everything the Billturmite Empire sees, it’s fun to think of Battle Beasts as etching bloody legacy. However, I feel that the introduction of subplots using Bounty Hunter may have been saved for the following issues: I’m not against the idea of Battle Beasts fighting bounty hunters, but I’m free to acknowledge that I want more pages dedicated to ideas for blood games.
However, not all the chaos and massacre. Kirkman has written several sardonic moments, including the relationship between the Battle Beast and his ship’s computer. Considering that the computer says it’s about to kill him, it makes some of their exchanges very hilarious. I also love how Kirkman continues to play the running gags he enjoys in Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #2 not only keeps filling the page with enough gore to top the deadly combat game, but also adds a 3rdonic edge that is as sharp as the title character’s blade. Kirkman and Ottley have a gold mine in their hands, and I can’t wait to see what they’re throwing at the Battle Beast next.
“Invincible Universe: Battle Beast” #2 Raises Massacre
The Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #2

Ottley is comparable to the sci-fi franchise by filling his spash pages with literal blood and various aliens.
Kirkman expands the invincible universe with a representative combination of wit and violence.
Annalisa Leoni’s color art brings a lot of energy to the art, especially when Gore is concerned.
The Star Trek: The next generation joke is amazing.
I needed more blood games!
