In February 2026, Scholastic will launch a new fantasy graphic novel series with animated film director Morr Meroz. Until the snow, three outcasts need to join together as predators and prey begin to mysteriously disappear in the heart of the snowman.

The Adventure Snowball Book 1: A Blood Moon, written by Meroz and illustrated by Collin Fogel. Snowman Book 1: Blood Moon will be available at local bookstores and public libraries from February 3, 2026. You can look at the first cover and learn what you know about the series so far.

Snowman Book 1: Blood Moon

Here is the description of the first book on Scholastic:

“Feba, an orphan wolf child believed to be cursed, is being exiled from the starving pack. Usha, the fierce snow leopard, embarks on a dangerous quest for the wisdom of a mysterious visionary, confronting the deceitful creatures of the frigid wilderness and navigating the fatal obstacles awaiting them at every turn.

Mellos, author of Snow Thaw, is Book 1: A Blood Moon and was the founder of Bloop Animation Studios.

“The snowman is a labor of love and we are very excited to finally join us on this wild journey. Partnering with Scholastic means we can share this story with more children than we could have imagined, and we can’t wait for them to jump in!”

Illustrator Fogel said:

“I quickly got me crazy from the first page reading a lot of classic cartoons, shows, movies and snowman.

Orlando Dosreis, editor of Scholastic Press, said:

“I knew the moment when the snowman landed on my desk. After all, it’s not every day that obedience is submitted as a complete book! With the help of Colin Fogel’s stunning art, this is just the beginning.

When I arrived at my local bookstore or public library on February 3, 2026, would I pick up a copy of Snowball Book 1: A Blood Moon? Please let the comic know what you’re thinking in the comments section or on the Bluesky social media page.

Snowman Book 1: Expected to be published on February 3, 2026.
