“Quent Comics is rooted in the Filipino word Kwento and means “story,” said Cecilia Lim, co-founder and CEO of Kwento Comics. “We believe in the transformative power of storytelling to inspire, empower and connect communities around the world. Every story we tell, every panel we create, every character we bring to life reflects our mission. It is to raise our diverse voices and celebrate the richness of Asian heritage, culture and identity.”
“To be able to see Asian women at the forefront of creative and entrepreneurial efforts, not only was it a truly special and rewarding experience, working with all the women creative teams.” “It’s empowering to know that you don’t have to ask for a seat at a table when you can make your own. We deserve to see ourselves in every space, including graphic novels that were a great way to visually display and immerse our viewers into mythology from the islands of the Philippines. The Philippines and its people are full of such colours and lives, so it was important that our artwork reflected this.”
“I’m so happy to continue masking the Harya series of masks series at Clover Press,” said Hank Canaltz, publisher of Clover Press. “The women at Quento tell such persuasive stories, and some of them have been ingrained in mythology. We all grow up hearing these stories from our parents, and Quento brings them to modern light.”
