It’s Black Friday, so it’s the perfect time to be looking for a new notebook. To avoid wasting your cash, we researched reviews, checked price history, and compiled some Black Friday laptop deals that are really cheaper than usual and you can still get discounts.

Discounts include several notebooks we’ve tested and recommended at the best prices ever. Apple’s latest MacBook Air is available at a new low price for one, and the latest Microsoft Surface Laptop is $300 off. Our top picks for Chromebook buying guides and our picks for the best Windows notebooks on a budget are also on sale.

We will update this post if the price changes and more deals occur. Please note that many of the deals below are for preconfigured models. If you want to know more precisely the specifications of your machine, it is worth buying directly from the manufacturer.

Apple MacBook Air (2024). (Engadget)

Apple MacBook Air (13-inch, M3) at Amazon for $844 ($255 off MSRP): The latest MacBook Air is our pick for the best laptop you can buy. From its premium design and comfortable keyboard to its long battery life and everyday performance, it ticks almost all the boxes for those who love macOS. I gave it a score of 90 in the review. According to a recent Bloomberg report, Apple is likely to release a minor refresh early next year, but this will be a new low for the current base model with Apple’s M3 chip, 16GB of RAM, and 256GB of SSD. It is standard. If you need even more storage, the 512GB version drops to an all-time low of $1,049. You can also get it at Best Buy for an additional $5.

Apple MacBook Air (15-inch, M3) for $1,044 ($255 off) on Amazon: The 15-inch MacBook Air is nearly identical to the 13-inch version in terms of features and performance, but with a more spacious display and better performance. speaker. However, it is about 0.6 pounds heavier. This is the highest price to date for the base model with the M3 chip, 16GB of RAM, and 256GB SSD, but a version with double the storage capacity is also available for a new lowest price of $1,234. Also at Best Buy.

Apple MacBook Air (13-inch, M2) for $749 at Amazon ($250 off): If you’re on a budget, the last-generation MacBook Air offers most of the features you love about the new M3 model at a lower cost. You can get it for the price. price. The main sacrifices are slightly fewer chips, the base model’s storage is technically slower, and the inability to connect to two external monitors. This matches the lowest price ever for the entry-level version with the M2 chip, 16 GB of RAM, and 256 GB of storage. Also at Best Buy.

Apple MacBook Pro (2024). (Devindra Hardawar, Engadget)

Apple MacBook Pro (14-inch, M4 Pro) for $2,099 ($300 off) at Amazon: The recently updated MacBook Pro is more of a laptop than most people need, but it’s still great for programmers, media editors, and powerful for those with more demanding needs. We gave it a 92 in our review earlier this month. Note that like all Apple laptops, there is no USB-A port and there is virtually no way to upgrade the device after purchase. This is the biggest discount to date for a configuration with Apple’s M4 Pro chip, 24 GB of RAM, and 1 TB SSD. The version with 512GB of storage is also $250 off, with a starting price of $1,749. Also available at Best Buy and B&H.

Apple MacBook Pro (16-inch, M4 Pro) for $2,199 ($300 off) at Amazon: The 16-inch MacBook Pro adds the same great performance, build quality, and Mini LED with an even wider display and hours of battery life. I will. Display of smaller counterpart. The downside is that it’s heavy at 4.7 pounds. This is the lowest configuration ever with the M4 Pro chip, 24GB RAM, and 512GB SSD. Also available at Best Buy and B&H.

Microsoft Surface Laptop 7 (13.8-inch) for $899 ($300 off) at Amazon: We gave the latest Surface Laptop an 88 review score earlier this year and currently recommend it as a great mainstream ultraportable in our laptop buying guide. Masu. The caveat is that it runs on an ARM processor, so performance is good, but it may not work with all the apps and peripherals you use. However, if you can live with that, the bright 120Hz display, premium aluminum design, and long battery life are all impressive. Featuring a Snapdragon Otherwise this is the best price we’ve seen. If you prefer a bigger screen, a 15-inch version with a faster Snapdragon X Elite chip and 256GB SSD costs as little as $1,053. Also at Best Buy.

HP Pavilion Aero 13 for $580 ($320 off) at HP: The HP Pavilion Aero is a budget contender in our laptop buying guide. It feels a little cheap and the webcam is poor, but it’s thin and light, has a good selection of ports, and the IPS display is solid for the price. Powered by a Ryzen 5 8640U chip, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD, this configuration is fast enough for general web browsing, word processing, and light photo editing. This matches the best price we’ve found since the 2024 model’s launch.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon (Gen 12) on sale for $1,099 ($500 off) at Lenovo: The ThinkPad X1 Carbon gets an honorable mention in our laptop buying guide, scoring 87 points in our review earlier this year I’m doing it. Its performance wasn’t the best in our benchmark tests, but it was still fast enough to handle the kind of web browsing, media editing, and even light gaming that most people do on their notebooks. The design is reasonably thin (0.6 inches), light (2.4 pounds), and durable, with a healthy selection of ports (including HDMI 2.1) and the bouncy, responsive keyboard that’s popular in the ThinkPad series. The matte display also virtually eliminates glare, but the 1080p webcam is fine and the side-mounted power button is a little hard to press. This is the lowest price we’ve seen so far for a configuration with Intel’s Core Ultra 5 135U chip, 16GB (non-upgradable) RAM, 512GB SSD, and a 14-inch 1,920 x 1,200 display. Just enter coupon code X1G12TDDEAL at checkout. If you need more power, another model with a faster Core Ultra 7 155U chip and 32GB RAM is also discounted at $1,391. In that case, use the code HOLIDAYTHINKDB.

Lenovo Flex 5i Chromebook Plus for $369 ($130 off) at Best Buy: The Flex 5i Chromebook Plus is at the top of our best Chromebook guide. We like the high 16:10 aspect ratio of the IPS touchscreen, which is great for word processing and web page viewing. It works fine for the basic tasks you need to do in Chrome OS, and both the keyboard and trackpad feel reliable. However, battery life is mediocre and it weighs 3.6 pounds, which is pretty heavy for a 14-inch notebook. This discount is $20 higher than the lowest price we’ve seen so far, but it’s still quite a distance from the typical street price for this configuration. It is equipped with an Intel Core i3-1315U chip, 8GB RAM, and 128GB eMMC storage.

ASUS TUF Gaming A16 Advantage Edition (2023) gaming laptop on sale for $680 ($420 off) at Best Buy. Although a 2023 model, this configuration of the A16 should have plenty of features for value-conscious buyers. It has a 16-inch 165Hz 1,920 x 1,200 display, AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS processor, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, and AMD Radeon RX 7700S GPU. You still have to deal with the usual trade-offs of cheap gaming laptops. It can get hot under load, it’s bulky, the keyboard isn’t great, and the screen is a little dark. However, it’s powerful enough to run new games at 1080p, the chassis is generally sturdy, and the battery can hit double-digit hours when you’re not gaming. This discount matches the lowest price ever for this configuration.

Buy the Alienware M18 R2 Gaming Laptop for $2,200 ($600 off) at Dell: The M18 R2 is the top 18-inch iteration in our gaming laptop buying guide. It’s an absolute tank, but it’s well put together and this configuration comfortably plays new games at high settings at 1080p or 1440p. It has a 165Hz 2,560 x 1,600 panel, Intel Core i9-14900HX chip, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 GPU. This transaction price is not cheap, but it is a new low for this variant. A lower-spec model also sells for $1,900, but more demanding games can quickly run into problems. It’s also available on Dell and eBay via Amazon, although the latter appears to be out of stock.

ASUS ROG Strix G16 (2024) gaming laptop on sale for $1,615 ($285 off) on Amazon. Although not listed highly in any guide, this configuration of the ROG Strix G16 should be a solid value for anyone looking for a 16-incher. All-round gaming notebook. It has an Intel Core i9-14900X chip, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU, which is enough to easily run many games at high settings. The overall build quality doesn’t feel cheap, and the 2,560 x 1,600 240Hz display is crisp and fast. RAM and storage are also user-upgradable, but battery life and 720p webcam aren’t ideal. This transaction is comparable to an all-time low. Another model with a 1080p panel, Core i7-13650HX chip, and RTX 4060 GPU also sells for as low as $1,100, but to get decent frame rates with that model, you’ll need to lower the game settings more often. There is a need.

Apple iPad Pro (11-inch, M4) for $849 at Amazon ($100 off, clip $50 coupon): The iPad Pro is still overkill for most people, but it has a class-leading OLED display, a surprisingly slim frame, and a powerful With the M4 chip, iPad Pro lets you do just that. Great tablet. It can serve as a laptop replacement for certain creative types, but you’ll have to accept iPadOS’ continued shortcomings in multitasking, file management, and other computer-related tasks. If you’re looking to make the switch, or if you have the cash to spare and want a more portable companion to your current laptop, this represents the lowest price on the latest 11-inch model. Just clip the $50 coupon on the page. If you’re willing to pay for a wider display, the 13-inch iPad Pro is also available for as low as $1,099.
