Tfaw.com was just closed on April 30th for something cool and nerd and cool in another world ecommerce portal. Three physical stores in two Oregon and in Universal City Walk in Burbank, California are open.
TFAW (from another world) began in 1980 as a comic shop owned by My Crichardson, owner of Dark Horse. In the 90s, it expanded to a series of stores, including the most well-known locations on the popular Universal City Walk. TFAW.com launched in the early days of e-commerce, hailed as “the country’s third largest comic book retailer,” offering a wide range of comics, toys and collectibles.
Hey, Tfaw customer! https://t.co/N9SE8FRA8R is sad to announce that it will close on April 30th, 2025. Don’t worry. The physical store is open and ready to serve you in person. For more information, please visit https://t.co/br9uu0lrlj. pic.twitter.com/ah9xhl1oe0

In January, TFAW announced it had ended its affiliate program. This is probably the first indication that the site was having problems. Shortly afterwards, Dark Horse announced that its digital comics platform was shut down. The move came amid a challenge for The Embracer Group, the parent company of Dark Horse.
According to the TFAW website, they stopped pre-orders on April 9th, which is the last day that submarines and pre-orders will be processed. April 21st is the last date to order items in stock.
On April 30th, the site will be offline.
Reddit’s TFAW customers reacted to the shock and praised TFAW as a reliable place to not only buy cartoons, but also order them in advance.
Even if what we went on TFAW.com was an issue with embracers, whether Diamond Bankruptcy was the last straw or not, readers lost the trustworthy online source of the comics, publishers lost big stores, which is another sign of change and tumultuousness. And as a journalist, I am very sad beyond the obvious. The TFAW site is a great source of images and information, and the Diamond website is also in Limbo so God knows where we get covers now.
