At San Diego Comic-Con, Skybound and Image Comics have announced that they will work with Scott Dunbier’s Act 4 Publishing to offer Steve Ditko Artist’s Edition Amazing Spider-Man, one of the most anticipated artist editions to date. Arrived in May 2026, this groundbreaking release launches a multi-book collaboration with Marvel Comics.

The oversized 15″ x 22″ collection features some of the most historic comics created by Spider-Man co-creator Steve Ditko. In addition to these classic stories, readers will be able to find dozens of splash pages, story pages, covers, and even rare, unprecedented illustrations from the early 1960s. All of these were scanned to preserve all the inclines, blue pencils and nuances.

“Spider-Man co-creator Steve Ditko was one of the most important and innovative creators in the Marvel Universe,” said editor Scott Dunvia. “His ingenious style helped make Spider-Man one of the world’s most beloved heroes.”

Mark Ditko, nephew of the late artist, added:

Unlike traditional collections, the artist’s editions recreate original artwork of the exact sizes they have drawn. Although pages may appear black and white, all scans are in full color and provide readers with the closest possible experience to look at Ditko’s boards directly, as they capture the depths of ink, pencils and textures.

“This is a great way to start a partnership with Act 4 and Marvel,” says Sean Mackiewicz, Skybound’s SVP and publisher. “Ditko has changed comic storytelling. This edition highlights all the strokes and details you’ve never seen before.”

This Spider-Man release is part of a large slate of the Skybound/Act 4 Partnership Artist Edition and Inspector Edition, including Jim Aparo’s DC Classic Artist Edition (late 2025), Darwin Cook’s “Full Spirit Ngoiser Edition, Wallywood’s EC Story Artist” Edition – Exshoning, Mike Minora Book 2 Artist, Mike Minora Book 2 Artist, Mike Minora Book 2 Artist, Mike Mike In Edition and more. Future projects are J. It will highlight creators such as Scott Campbell, Dave Stevens, Jason Pearson and Paul Smith.

Amazing Spider-Man, Steve Ditko Artist’s Edition (ISBN 978-1-5343-3471-7, $195) held a comic shop on May 6, 2026 and bookstore on May 19, 2026. Fans can sign up for updates on Skybound’s official website.

Original art collectors interested in contributing scans to future volumes can contact the team (email protection). For more information about Steve Ditko’s life and work, visit Ditkoverse.com, argued by neo Mark S. Ditko.
