Dynamite Publishing has announced SPACE GHOST / JONNY QUEST: SPACEQUEST, a monumental new crossover between Hanna-Barbera favorites Space Ghost and Jonny Quest. Written by popular author Joe Casey and with art by the phenomenally talented Sebastian Piris, this epic adventure/space cop crossover combines two blockbuster comics from Warner Bros. Discovery Dynamite. , and has some serious hype behind it. IP.
The premise of the story is as follows.
Johnny’s crew, including his father Dr. Benton Quest, guardian Race Bannon, adopted brother Haji, and beloved canine companion Bandit, investigate a mysterious spaceship discovered and brought to Area 51 by the government. This is almost certainly extraterrestrial. Usually, where a UFO is located, its pilot is not very far away. Things get complicated when the crashed spaceship comes under the jurisdiction of a cosmic cop, the Space Ghost.
Here’s what series writer Joe Casey had to say about SPACEQUEST:
“It was easy to look at the two concepts and think about how they could be combined, how they could bounce off each other, and what kind of stories could help honor both. Everybody’s There. It’s a crossover of characters as well as a crossover of concepts, and the basic hook of the story is something you wouldn’t believe has ever been done before. When you look at it, it’s so brilliantly obvious that it feels right.”
The creative team is complemented by star-studded variant covers from top artists including Mark Spears, Joshua Middleton, Derek Chu, Ben Oliver, and Chad Hardin. Additionally, it comes with a collector’s incentive cover by the legendary Mark Bagley.
In addition to the new series, Casey and Piris’ first collection of Johnny and Friends stories will also be released in March.
