We probably won’t have to wait too long to get all the official details about the PlayStation 5 Pro, as Sony has announced that the PlayStation 5 tech presentation will be streamed on the PlayStation YouTube channel on September 10 at 11am ET.
All indications make it clear that this is the official reveal of the PS5 Pro. PS5 lead designer Mark Cerny will host the stream, which will focus on “PS5 and gaming tech innovation.” This comes just days after Sony teased a redesigned PS5 with images that matched various PS5 Pro leaks. The company was also expected to unveil the PS5 Pro in mid-September ahead of the holiday shopping season. Combine all this with the “The journey continues” tagline in the teaser video, and it’s pretty clear what’s in store.
The PS5 Pro is rumored to offer higher and more consistent frame rates at 4K resolutions thanks to a mid-cycle refresh, as well as an 8K performance mode in supported games. Games are said to render 45 percent faster than the standard PS5, and the Pro’s ray tracing capabilities are reported to be two to three times faster.
