It’s Thursday, which means Epic Games has a new PC game on store shelves for people to get for free. One of the options this week is humming. Until December 12th at 11am, you can purchase LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga for just $0.
This is easily the best Lego game I’ve played, and probably the best Star Wars title. If that name still bothers you 25 years later, there’s no need to start with The Phantom Menace. However, you will need to play all nine major Star Wars stories. The game features the Lego brand’s trademark silly humor, with clever (and often very funny) riffs on famous moments from the movies. As you might expect, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is packed with Easter eggs. It looks great too. There are many reasons why this is one of my favorite games of 2022.
However, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga isn’t perfect. Reports that developers at TT Games were forced to work long hours to complete the game cast a dark shadow. Additionally, if you plan on completing 100%, the collecting aspect may seem daunting. Still, there’s potential for dozens of hours of family fun here, and admission is free.
There’s another free title in the Epic Games Store this week in the form of Bus Simulator 21 Next Stop. I hope it’s a fun game for those who check it out, but I’ll never know for myself.
