Abrams Comic Arts’ manga “Kana” continues to make waves in the industry with the release of the English version “Silence”.
Yoann Volnières makes his debut with this post-apocalyptic comic, originally published in France, but English readers will also be able to fully experience the true horror and charm of Volnières’ imaginary world. “Silence” is set in a world where monsters roam. Humans are frightened and rely on sign language to communicate. 4 volumes of “Silence” have been released so far.
These preview pages provide snippets of Saber and her companions encountering the ferocious Fire Boar. Saber seems frozen in the face of such a creature, but with the encouragement of his companions, he runs while his friends provide a distraction. Check out an exclusive preview here:
In Silence, Saber and his village have been cut off from the rest of the world for decades, relying on the use of sign language to communicate with each other to avoid the monster’s attention. However, with the arrival of a young woman named Rune, things change for Saber and his people, as her plans may give them a means of protection. To fight monsters… you have to become a monster yourself. Saber and his people must now embark on a new and dangerous journey. So they must leave their lives behind in the village and head into the mountains to search for other surviving humans.
Volume 1 of Silence will be available in bookstores on January 14th, and in comic shops the following day. This comic costs $12.99 and includes 208 black and white pages.
