The refreshed Smart Monitor M8 has the same features as past models, but does require a computer or console, including video calling via a detachable webcam and streaming content from providers like Netflix and Prime Video. And now you can do even more. There are also tools that allow you to quickly send images and text to your monitor from other Samsung devices, such as Galaxy smartphones and Book laptops. It also integrates with Galaxy Buds to provide a “surround sound-like experience” with minimal delay.
It offers UHD (3,840 x 2,160) resolution up to 60Hz and HDR10+. With the VA panel, it’s pretty bright at 400 nits, has a 4ms response time, and displays up to 1 billion colors with 99% sRGB coverage. In terms of inputs, it has USB-C and Micro HDMI 2.0 inputs, as well as a USB-C charging interface. It also features a removable SlimFit Cam for video calls, perfect for work or light content creation.
However, that’s only half the story. This is a WiFi-enabled smart TV that supports Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV, and cloud gaming platforms. It has dual 5W speakers and a built-in home hub that can be used to control SmartThings-enabled IoT devices like lights and thermostats.
