Samsung is making a thinner version of the Galaxy S25. The Galaxy S25 Edge was teased at the end of the company’s Unpacked event, and it appears to be significantly thinner than other phones Samsung launched today.
That’s hardly the case with Samsung’s teasing. A voiceover describes the phone as “the culmination of our most innovative technologies” and exaggerates the device’s visual sophistication. Scrub through Samsung’s livestream and you’ll see components like the vapor chamber, camera, and metal frame, but only a glimpse of the Galaxy S25 Edge’s actual silhouette. The new mobile phone was on display at Samsung’s live event in South Korea. You can view it from the embed below.
Samsung did not provide details about when the Galaxy S25 Edge would go on sale at the event, but Bloomberg reported that the device will be available “in the U.S. and other markets by mid-year.” The device will “use some of the same technology as the new Ultra model” in a slimmer package. Bloomberg writes, “Samsung hasn’t decided on pricing yet, but acknowledged it will be cheaper than the $1,299+ Ultra.”
The company isn’t the only company looking to woo customers with thinness in 2025. Apple is also reported to be releasing the iPhone 17 “Air” later this year.
