The writing duo behind Declan Shalvey and Rory McConville, The Image Comics Series Time Before Time, are reuniting with the Mind-Bending Time-Travel series, Dynamite’s The Terminator: Metal, and Art by Lorenzo Re. The first issue features brutally beautiful covers by Shalvey, Sebastian Piriz, Ivan Tao and Bob Layton.

The latest addition to Dynamite’s Terminator comic line will allow readers to immerse themselves in the future era of wars more than ever before. According to the official PR, each issue of the new anthology series offers an independent story that delves into “the victory and tragedy of those caught up in an eternal war with the machine, and the struggle to protect humanity after the world is over.”

At the heart of the opening arc (Problem #1) is Percy Dalton. Percy Dalton enters a dangerous mission with a resistance engineer with an unexpected companion. It is a deactivated terminator known as the Tex.

Please read the explanation of problem #1 below:

Keep your friends close – and your enemies are nearby!

In an apocalyptic future that follows Judgment Day, the crushed remains of humanity must use every tool they can in an existential battle with the machine. That includes the deadliest weapons Skynet sends to annihilate them.

For one member of resistance, this means trusting his life in a reprogrammed Terminator. A soldier trapped behind the enemy lines and his reused destruction engine must find a way to overcome the mission and complete it. This is undertaken by the unlikely success that allows you to restart Terminator to its default settings.

Check out the full interview with McConville and Shalvey about the Terminator: Metal below:

Terminator: Metal #1 will appear on the shelves of local comic bookstores on October 22, 2025. For more information, visit Dynamite.com.
