“A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead” is scheduled for release on October 17th and will be the first video game spin-off from the “Quiet Place” series. The premise is perfect for a horror game adaptation, as it involves sound-sensitive creatures that hear and hunt prey, and one wrong move can spell disaster. The developer has announced that A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead will feature support for noise detection.
Fans of the film already know that silence is paramount in this series. All sounds attract aliens with abnormal hearing, so the characters try to move around silently. To increase immersion, developer Stormind Games has implemented a “mic noise detection” feature. If you make a sound in real life, aliens can hear you through your microphone and kill you.
Playing without a microphone can be very difficult, as object movements and interactions create noise. However, activating it will definitely increase the difficulty level. Expect your heart rate to increase and lots of screaming. The game will be available on Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, and is currently available for pre-order for $30.
