Steve Orlando and John Harris Dunning ( Summer Shadows ) will team up to write Ripperland , with art by Alessandro Oliveri, colors by Francesca Vivaldi, and letters by Fabio Amelia.

“RIPPERLAND is unlike any book I’ve ever worked on, and I mean that in the best way possible,” says Orlando. “John and Alessandro are incredible talents, and the alchemy between us across borders and oceans has created something truly special! It’s WESTWORLD meets FROM HELL in a fantastic work of speculative fiction! The streets of London of tomorrow call upon yesterday! I can’t wait for you to see it!”

So, what is Ripperland?

Jack the Ripper returns to London in the year 2188. For the past century, a devastated, post-Brexit Britain has operated as a giant Victorian theme park in exchange for American military and financial protection. But when the grandson of an American billionaire is murdered in central London, the fragile status quo is threatened.

Is the killer a brilliant madman? An American taking advantage of superior technology? Or an underground British resistance group wishing to throw off the yoke of American oppression and rejoin the modern world? American Special Agent Jesse Holden and local British police detective Edwin Fogg must navigate clashing ideologies to find the truth in the foggy streets of 22nd century London.

MILWAUKEE, Ore. (September 19, 2024) — Dark Horse Comics is pleased to present Ripperland, a new horror comic book series where gory events and unlikely romances blossom in a future Victorian London. The series is co-written by Steve Orlando (Martian Manhunter, Marauders) and John Harris Dunning (Summer Shadows, Wipers), with illustrations and cover art by Alessandro Oliveri, colors by Francesca Vivaldi (Bettie Page) and lettering by Fabio Amelia (Assassin’s Creed).

“Collaborating with Steve has been an exciting adventure, and I think that shines through in every page of Ripperland,” said Dunning. “This world came at us at breakneck speed, and we raced to keep up. Alessandro’s artwork is criminally brilliant, but no one can ever keep up with him. Read Ripperland and have a blast.”

Ripperland #1 (of 4) will arrive in comic shops on January 22, 2024 and can be pre-ordered at your local comic shop for $4.99.
