Currently in the midst of CES 2025, Amazon has announced a series of new features and devices across its product line. For Ring, this means better camera quality, with the Ring Floodlight Cam Pro and Spotlight Cam Pro getting 2K video resolution. This upgrade improves the quality of each bit of video footage, making it clearer and safer.
Ring will roll out 2K video resolution on January 8th. Anyone with a Floodlight Cam Pro or Spotlight Cam Pro can upgrade their device’s resolution for free using the Ring app.
At the same time, Ring partnered with fire safety company Kidde to develop smoke and carbon monoxide alarms using Ring technology. Basically, when the device detects dangerous levels of smoke or carbon monoxide, it sends real-time alerts to the Ring app. Importantly, individuals do not need to own a Ring alarm or hub for use.

For $5 a month, customers can have their devices professionally monitored and agents can contact emergency personnel and contacts. These devices will be available exclusively to U.S. customers at Home Depot starting in April of this year.
