This issue of Scooby-Doo! features two spooky literary-themed stories. Where Are You?” I picked it up on a whim during a recent flight to London.
First there’s a vampire romance novel and a slightly meta tale of a harassed writer, followed by a tale of a library haunted by a literary legend.
With an attractive, cartoonish art style, everything is nice, clean, and fun for all ages. Scooby-Doo comics have long been a nostalgic, comforting and warm hit for older readers, and safe comics with gentle horror and silly humor for younger readers.
There are few complex plots like those found in animated shows, and the mysteries come together fairly quickly, but that’s understandable since the story has to set up the premise, introduce the characters, and solve the mystery all in just a few pages.
An extended preview of Metropolis Grove, an all-ages graphic novel, rounds out the issue. It looks like fun, but its appeal is likely to be far more youthful than the cross-generational mysteries of Scooby-Doo.
Hello! I’m Jason. I write articles for midlifegamergeek.com every day. If you’re interested in supporting original, regularly published, human-generated content (that’s never been plagiarized or copied through the efforts of other writers), please help us keep this site running by making a donation.
Not only do I not earn any money from my writing here (although I do earn a small commission from affiliate links posted on my page, but as an Amazon Associate I do earn from qualifying purchases from these links), my work sometimes seems to be stolen and repurposed by lazy, morally bankrupt idiots.
No pressure, of course, but we really appreciate any support you can provide. You can easily support us through Ko-Fi.com/geekmid or the PayPal link.
Thank you very much for your donation. I would also like to thank you for taking the time to read my article. Please remember. This entire article is by Jason Brown and can be found at midlifegamergeek.com. Take that, Skynet!
