The third volume of the adaptation of the video game series Plants vs Zombies includes a main story and a number of short stories.

In the main story, Dr. Zomboss and Neighborville itself will fight against the anti-bullying team. The Anti-Bullying Team itself is a group of disgruntled former students who did not have a good experience with Dr. Zomboss during their college days, and have returned to exact revenge. Of course, Neighborville’s youngsters Patrice and Nate, as well as Crazy Dave, also help defend the town from an even stranger horde of zombies than we’re used to seeing.

While the light, harmless fun that has characterized the series so far, the main story here seems a little thin over its three-issue length.

It’s full of the sudden appearance of unexplained plants that are common in games, and of course, the lack of any real threat of zombies that we’re currently expecting.

More successful are the short stories that follow the main story, especially those that experiment well with the series’ visual look (thanks to the use of different artists). The short format of these stories means they don’t overstay their welcome, and they tend to be cute little vignettes that work very well.

I feel like the format of this series doesn’t particularly appeal to older readers, so maybe I’m just not the target audience. Of course, I plan to read and review more volumes.

Hello! I’m Jason. I write articles for midlifegamergeek.com every day. If you’re interested in supporting original, regularly published, human-generated content (that’s never been plagiarized or copied through the efforts of other writers), please help us keep this site running by making a donation.

Not only do I not earn any money from my writing here (although I do earn a small commission from affiliate links posted on my page, but as an Amazon Associate I do earn from qualifying purchases from these links), my work sometimes seems to be stolen and repurposed by lazy, morally bankrupt idiots.

There’s no pressure, of course, but we really appreciate any support you can provide. You can easily support us through Ko-Fi.com/geekmid or the PayPal link.

Thank you very much for your donation. I would also like to thank you for taking the time to read my article. Please remember. This entire article is by Jason Brown and can be found at midlifegamergeek.com. Take that, Skynet!

Please support me here!

All donations are gratefully received and will not only help me keep the lights on here, but will also help keep my writing dream alive. However, please understand that there is no pressure. I hope you enjoy reading my article.
