So will Ghosted be like that, where each issue begins with a shocking and incredibly tasteless (and mostly unnecessary) panel? I don’t know since it’s only been two issues, but it’s weird that it’s 2 for 2 so far.
The Ghost Heist is nearly finished with its planning stages, and team leader Winters is determined to make sure his supernatural prey gets in and out before the sun sets. So far so good, right? Only the local sheriff is sniffing around, and the skeptics on the team seem destined to discover the hard way that ghosts are very real…
Overall, I think I quite enjoyed the first issue of Ghosted, but there were a few things I struggled with. One was that horribly misjudged opening scene, but the other was the fact that the main character, Jackson Winters, was so ungrateful. The latter is no different here, but here he’s balanced out with a much more prominent and interesting supporting cast, which makes him being such an asshole so much fun.
The artwork is also great, with some great work on the creepy stuff (and the subtle treatment of gore at the beginning).
In a killer twist, it seems like this brutal escape wasn’t just a one-off act of random violence by a specific character, and the issue overall makes me look forward to reading more. After reading the first issue, I was confused.
Hello! I’m Jason. I write articles for midlifegamergeek.com every day.
