Rebellion has officially announced the 2000 advertising science fiction special 2025. This unveils a summer summer anthology of a 48-page summer one-shot story featuring a gorgeous Chris Weston cover featuring characters both new and old. It will be released on July 16th on the UK newsstand and on 2000 Advertising WebShop (£4.99). and the state side of August 20th ($8.99).

Sci-fi specials are almost an annual tradition for British anthology, serving as a handy accompaniment for weekly issues and new reader introduction points. The 2025 edition features several surprises, including the unusual return of Al Ewing’s judging the dreads and the story of the first new Ampny Crusis since 2013 (whether to give a guest appearance in the crossover or film it).

Participating in the 2000 Advertising Sci-Fi Special 2025 is a future shock from Strontium Dog, Out, and Addiwinwinton and Nick Dyer. Not all creative teams are known at this time, but co-creators Dan Abnett and Mark Harrison will be confirmed in the hit series The Out, while Ian Edgeton will be joined by frequent collaborator D’Israeli (Scarlet Traces, Stickleback) of Ampney Crucis (successor of artistic co-author Simon Davis).

Early 20th century paranormal investigator Ampney Crusis has not appeared in Prog for more than a decade

The news of this year’s sci-fi special may have slipped a bit earlier, as Chris Weston wanted to showcase the cover on social media (he also followed up with a must-see process image!).

Weston said:

“When I was a kid, buying a special summer comic was a highlight of my day at the beach, so it’s great to have the opportunity to continue that tradition.”

Here is the Rebellion press release:

“No matter the weather, the 2000 Advertising Sci-Fi Special 2025 is packed with stories to overcharge your summer! This year’s bestseller edition features the revival of this year’s bestseller along with some of Nu-Earth’s most exciting new thrillers.

“Thanks to author Al Ewing, Judge Dread has set out for his Hols and is back in his much-anticipated MegaCity after thrilling readers around the world with series like the Immortal Hulk and the Absolute Green Lanterns!

“Dread continued through security of the Space Pillar with the return of the strontium dog Johnny Alpha and the intergalactic bounty hunter team!

“This packed issue is checking out Cyd Finlea for a one-off story by creators Dan Abnett and Mark Harrison. If anyone knows they’ll get away from it, it’s CYD, a galaxy photojournalist.

“We’ll be panicking ahead of your own holiday this year, with the shock of a new future from Andi Ewington and Nick Dyer’s team.

“With five electronic animal languages to snap with thrill power this summer, the 2000 ad sci-fi special is an adventure into the unknown that you won’t have to afford to miss.
