Ram V’s next project is Resurrection Man: Quantum Karma, a metaphysical fantasy-adjacent sci-fi story with art by Anand RK. This six-issue series was published on Polygon and is based on the 1997 character created by Dan Abnett, Andy Lanning, and Jackson “Butch” Geis.
The series follows Mitch Shelley, a man with no memory of his past who discovers he has the unique ability to resurrect after death. Each time Mitch comes back to life, Mitch gains new superpowers, which are often tied to the circumstances of his death or the challenges he has to face.
The story blends elements of superhero action, science fiction, and mystery as Mitch encounters strange phenomena, battles villains, and grapples with his ever-changing abilities. The character’s dark themes and original setting made him a unique figure in the DC pantheon.
“This is the story I’ve wanted to tell since I first started writing for DC,” V said in a news release. “It stayed with me and stuck with me, and my love and excitement for the characters and the story only grew. For me, part of the fun of writing comics is reinventing the characters in a way that speaks to my own interests and joys. It can be re-imagined. In “Resurrection Man: Quantum Karma,” I invite readers to share in my excitement as Anand (Mike Spicer, colorist) and Aditya Vidhikar (letterer), my story of a never-ending life and the salvation of the universe. , and I hope to tell the story of falling in love as a story that spans the entire world.
