Aliens have been experiencing a surge in popularity this year. Marvel Comics’ latest foray into the Xenomorph is the new Alien title ALIEN: PARADISO, a new twist on the Alien series that unleashes space monsters on a luxury resort. Written by Steve Fox and illustrated by Edgar Salazar, this new version is told partially from the alien’s point of view for the first time, bringing a unique perspective never before seen in comics and bringing the monsters closer to readers.
“Because Romulus in many ways goes back to the origins of the franchise, we wanted to give readers a story they can’t find anywhere else,” said Fox. “Setting the story on the sun-drenched shores of an upscale beach resort inhabited by unscrupulous criminals, undercover sheriffs and low-paid employees immediately took us in a new direction.
“But as someone who thinks Alien is possibly the most perfect movie ever made, I’ve stuck very closely to the roots of what I found so terrifying in the first place: a small group of people outgunned, pursued by an unknown threat in a confined location. Edgar, Peter and I are committed to bringing you the Alien you know, love and fear in a way you’ve never seen before. Pull up a beach chair and watch out for acid splashes.”

Marvel Comics’ Alien comic book series takes a major turn in December with ALIEN: PARADISO. Written by Steve Fox and drawn by Edgar Salazar with additional illustrations by Peter Nguyen, ALIEN: PARADISO is a five-issue limited series that shines a neon light on the horror of the iconic franchise with a bold story of the stakes we must take to survive.
ALIEN: PARADISO introduces fans to an all-new side of the Alien universe. The universe’s most terrifying lifeforms find themselves feasting on fresh victims at a luxury resort. But these vacationers are far from innocent. As the Xenomorphs soak this picturesque landscape with blood and carnage, the familiar corruption, greed and terror that permeates the realm of Alien stories rear their ugly heads. In a bold twist, each issue will feature a special Xenomorph point-of-view page drawn by Nguyen, allowing readers to see through the Xenomorph’s eyes as he hunts his terrified targets.
