Papercutz, Mad Cave’s children’s graphic novel publication, is reinterpreting Flash Gordon for a new generation. Today, The Beat can exclusively announce Flash Gordon: The Girl from Infinity Vol. 2. 1 introduces a girl version of the character who must figure out who she is and how to save the world with her friend Dale. To do that, she first needs to regain her lost memories.

The Girl from Infinity, written by Margaret Bennett and illustrated by Bev Johnson, will be released in 2025. The full text is as follows:

In the distant future, navigator Dale Arden discovers a shooting star. Among them was a girl named Flash Gordon, the savior of the universe. However, Flash has no memory of who he is. She and Dale must work together to uncover their past, save Dale’s family, and save the alien planet Omnia from the clutches of the brutal Emperor Azimuth. Join us on the adventure of a lifetime in this gorgeous re-creation of Flash Gordon, written by NYT bestselling author Margaret Bennett and illustrated by Bev Johnson!

The project’s creative team seems genuinely excited to introduce this new take on the character to Papercutz readers.

“‘Flash Gordon: The Girl From Infinity’ is a colorful, epic space adventure with an interesting world and heartfelt characters,” said Johnson. “Flash is a lovable bundle of energy and determination, and I loved capturing her joie de vivre.”

Editor Stephanie Brooks said, “Flash Gordon: The Girl From Infinity” is a clever twist on the original characters and character designs, making it a great read for both new and longtime Flash fans. It’s an easy-to-read book.”The hearts of the characters remain the same, but the team of characters has been powered up, giving it a fresh feel.

“Our Flash Gordon is a young girl with no memories who grows up in a complex space environment where many things are at stake, including human survival, politics, and sovereignty. There’s so much passion and so many women developing the stakes in the representation that you see here. I’m really honored to be a part of the development of this book,” Brooks continued.

Alison Pond, Mud Cave’s director of marketing, added that Bennett and Johnson “lead an exceptional team with a strong creative vision shaped by talented women.” Their work brings fresh energy and perspective to this timeless world while staying true to the adventurous spirit of Flash Gordon that resonates with fans of all backgrounds. ”
