This tense from the Alcatraz trailer does not escape from Alcatraz.
Written by Eisner nominated author Christopher Cantwell (Stop and Catch Fire and Fear) and Eisner nominated illustrator Tyler Crook (Incredible Unitane and Lonely Hunter), O is shown when these two visionaries work together for the first time. The debut series is a double-sized work featuring a variety of covers designed by Tyler Crook, Oliver Dominguez, Valeria Blouso, Massimo Carnevale and Hayden Sherman. In anticipation of this exciting piece, Oni Press has dropped a trailer for the first issue of Alcatraz, which can be seen below.
Before its release, Aut of Alcatraz has already generated many buzz with critics called “a fascinating trip to the deep edge of water, the mind and the deep edge of human experience” and “high-quality crime comics.” If you want to read the tense scenes of characters who admire the artwork and struggle to float, the preview page can also be read below.
The cover can be seen below Crook showing Cover A and Variant Cover (1:10) (1:10), Dominguez shows Cover B, Burzo showing Returnable cover, Variant Cover (1:20), and Sharman showing the final variant cover (1:50):
Inmates Frank Morris and Clarence Anglin, who made the infamous escape from the Alcatraz Federal Prison in June 1962, pursued the Alcatraz prisoners. The two meet handler Miriam on their plans to land in San Francisco and travel to British Columbia as a farm worker. However, tensions rise as the FBI searches for the nation and searches for them, and they realize that life on the run is perhaps even worse than life in prison.
The first issue of the 48-page Issue 5 series will be released in full color, priced at $5.99. It will be released on March 19th from Alcatraz #1 and can be found in the comic shop on the release date.
