Oni Press presents MINE IS A LONG, LONESOME GRAVE by acclaimed author Justin Jordan (The Strange Talents of Luther Strode) and #1 bestselling artist Chris Shehan (House of Slaughter). We are excited to offer you the first look at #1.

In “MINE IS A LONG, LONESOME GRAVE #1,” Harley Creed, a former criminal trying to walk the right path, is thrust back into the world of violence when a supernatural curse gives her only seven days to live. Armed with a list of vengeful suspects, he delves into the shadowy criminal underworld of his decaying hometown of West Virginia, where magic and murder intertwine.

Read more from the publisher:

Harley Creed is a bad guy. He used to be worse. A violent ex-convict with a string of brutal crimes in his past, when he was finally released from prison, he wanted one thing: to leave Briar Falls, West Virginia, forever. It was to erase it. But Harley’s homeland has a strange way of swallowing people whole – the result of low-level folk magic that has seeped into its dark corners for generations. Now that Harley has returned, the revenge for past crimes is roaring back to life. Someone has cast a spell on him – Harley is writhing, screaming, and has seven days left before he dies.

The only way to save yourself is to find and kill the invisible enemy before the curse takes effect. That should be easy enough, but there’s no shortage of suspects in Briar Falls. With no other choice, Harley comes to pick everyone up. If we can’t have peace, at least we can get revenge.

“You don’t have the opportunity to commit crimes as much as you want…” says author Justin Jordan. “Wait, no, I mean, I don’t get to write as many crime novels as I would like. So it’s great to be able to work on crime novels, which is also my other favorite genre, horror books. And setting it in Appalachia, where I’m from, is just the icing on a very cruel cake.”

“Sad old men, revenge, witchcraft, and Appalachian folk magic. I’m going to write all of this with a smile on my face the whole time,” Sheehan added about how much he’s looking forward to working on the series.

“MINE IS A LONG, LONESOME GRAVE #1” begins its rampaging tour on February 12, 2025 in comic shops everywhere. By Chris Shehan (House of Slaughter), Matthew Roberts (Battle Pope), Kelsey Ramsay (Moon Dogs), Jeffrey Alan Love (Absolute Batman), Jason Shawn Alexander (Killadelphia) The cover will be featured!

Ahead of its release, check out some early information about this comic and what’s to come.
