Harley Creed is a bad guy. He used to be worse. A violent ex-convict with a string of brutal crimes in his past, when he was finally released from prison, he wanted one thing: to leave Briar Falls, West Virginia, forever. It was to erase it. But Harley’s homeland has a strange way of swallowing people whole – the result of low-level folk magic that has seeped into its dark corners for generations. Now that Harley is back, his pent-up revenge for his past crimes is about to come roaring back. Someone cast a spell on him – and Harley is left writhing and screaming for seven days before he dies. To reverse it, Harley must find and kill the invisible enemy before the curse reaches its gruesome end. But there’s no shortage of suspects in Briar Falls, and Harley is here to catch them all. If we can’t have peace, at least we can get revenge.
Jordan said: “I don’t get to do as much crime as I would like…wait, no, I mean I don’t get to do as much crime fiction as I would like. So committing a crime is my other favorite genre. This is also a horror book. The book was really great. And having it set in Appalachia, where I’m from, is just the icing on a very gory cake. Crime? Revenge? Witchcraft and sorcery? This is the book I was meant to write.”
The first issue will go on sale in February for $4.99 and features a main cover by Shehan, as well as stars Matthew Roberts (Battle Pope), Kelsey Ramsey (Moon Dogs), Jeffrey Alan Love (Absolute Batman), and Jason.・A cover version by Sean will be released.
