NVIDIA’s native GeForce NOW app is now on your Steam deck

NVIDIA will release native GeForce NOW apps on Steam Deck and browser versions on major mixed reality headsets, including Apple Vision Pro, Meta Quest 3 and 3S, the company announced at CES 2025. This will bring more than 2,100 NVIDIA titles to these devices, including two AAA Microsoft games released in late 2025.

Valve’s Steam Deck already offered limited beta support for GeForce NOW via the Chrome browser and automated scripts. The native version features a cloud-based GeForce RTX gaming rig for improved performance at up to 4K 60p resolution with HDR when connected to your TV. Users get the same benefits as RTX GPU owners, including DLSS 3 technology that improves frame rates. NVIDIA did not reveal an exact release date other than “later this year.”

GeForce NOW is also coming to VR headsets and coming soon. The company supports Apple Vision Pro, Meta Quest 3 and 3S, as well as Byte Dance’s Pico VR and MR headsets. If you own one of these headsets, simply open your browser and visit play.geforcenow.com when the version 2.0.70 app update arrives later this month.

In addition to the existing GeForce Now game library, owners of these devices will have access to Obsidian Entertainment’s Avowed and id Software’s DOOM: The Dark Ages when they launch on PC later this year. All of this could make GeForce NOW appealing to undecided users, but be aware that in addition to paying up to $20 per month for the service itself, you’ll have to buy the games you want to play. Please.
