On Wednesday, SHP Comics announced that its upcoming NSFW anthology Tales from EroticTech will be a direct-to-consumer exclusive when it hits comic shops in December. The Beat has all the details, allowing the collection to reveal writer/artist Dean Haspiel’s story.
Tales from Erotek Vol. 1 launched on Kickstarter in February and raised about $11,000 from backers. The anthology is an adaptation of SHP Entertainment’s award-winning debut indie film Technical Support, which premiered at film festivals in 2024. The anthology is set in the same world as SHP’s upcoming five-issue limited comic series EroTech, which debuts in November.
Here is the full synopsis of the anthology:
At SHP Comics, top indie creators strip away the raw, carnal, and unfiltered love of the digital age. The stories in this provocative anthology fuse lust, obsession, and lust into an unforgettable vision of seductive, intimate, and horrifying cybersex. Horror, humor, and XXX erotica collide in a shameless exploration of identity, longing, and obsession. Turn it on, strap it on, and surrender because it’s going to be a pain.
There are eight stories in Tales from EroticTech Vol. 1, listed below:
“Alice 1+2” by Chloe Brailsford “No Cause for Alarm” by Alan Flops “A Day Away” by Dean Haspiel “Killer Sex Bots” by Kate Mansfield “Chopped and Screwed” by Brian McCrae “The Adventures of a Toxic Masculinity Man and a Sexy Woman” by Jack Purcell and Darling X. “I’m thrilled with the response I’ve received from both creators and retailers. The story of EroTech, a workplace comedy about a Silicon Valley startup that manufactures sex robots, was born out of my experience working as a software engineer,” said SHP publisher and creator Sean Hainsworth.
“We started thinking about what it would be like to build and debug a working sex robot. We had a lot of fun developing EroTech, so we thought it would be great to bring together a bunch of talented indie creators and explode that premise into short stories in different styles and genres. The results were amazing,” Hainsworth continued.
“We think the timing is right for this anthology. We’re seeing humorous erotic comics reaching a passionate audience in the modern comics world, and we can’t wait to see EroTech on shelves alongside classics like Harvey Kurtzman’s Little Annie Funny, Larry Welts’ Cherry, and of course Tim Seeley’s new Moneyshot series!” he concluded.
This EroTech exclusive series follows new Silicon Valley CEO Samantha Jenkins, whose attempts to get her engineers and managers to release her new Model 6000 sex robot on time are delayed by several bugs discovered during routine testing. The first issue will be in stores on November 19th.
Tales from Erotica Vol. 1 will follow in two weeks, debuting exclusively in the direct market on December 10th. Pre-orders are available until October 27th through Lunar Distribution.
