Fall is officially here, and it’s time to curl up on the couch with a cup of tea and a portable gaming console. If you’re looking for something new, or haven’t bought one yet, check out the Nintendo Switch OLED. The device is currently on sale for $300, a 14 percent discount from $350. The discount is available on Woot for five days or while supplies last. Woot is owned by Amazon, so Prime members get free standard shipping (but Amazon’s return policy doesn’t apply).
The Nintendo Switch OLED was released in 2021 as a minor upgrade over the original 2017 model. With upgrades such as an enlarged OLED screen from 6.2 inches to 7 inches, we gave it an 89 out of 100 in our review. It also boasts a longer battery life, with improved efficiency extending the life to about 7 hours instead of 4-5 hours. Additionally, the stand makes tabletop mode easier to use.

The big takeaway here is that the Nintendo Switch 2 should be coming out soon (emphasis on “should be coming out”). Rumors about the second generation console have been circulating for years, but multiple indications point to an announcement by the end of this month. Of course, this is all just speculation, so it’s up to you to decide whether to accept this deal or wait to see what Nintendo does. Keep in mind that The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom launches later this week.
