Acclaimed French author Sylvain Lamberg (Watchdog, Warship: Jolly Roger) works with Harvey Award-winning artist Mirca Andolfo (Sweet Paprika, Unnatural) for York Under Under York. Arrived this winter from the image comic, the graphic novel shows the first US printing of one of Anderfo’s previous works.
The story unfolds in two worlds: the vibrant daily streets of New York City and the secret magical twins below York. The center features Alison Walker, a talented young Manhattan painter who hides dangerous truths. She is a witch. Allison is from York. This was ruled for centuries by five powerful cotts that were as dangerous as they were powerful, bound by strict codes.
These symbiosis has not disappeared after being hunted at nearby extinctions. They have evolved. Now they work secretly and subtly shape the society that once tried to destroy them. Allison believed he had escaped this world, but magic has a way of finding something bound by it. And as the past catches up, she is forced to face the strength she thought she had left behind.
Available under York (Trade Paperback, ISBN 9781534335660), in comic shops on Wednesday, November 26th, and at bookstores such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, Indigo, Waterstones, and Tuesday, December 2nd.
