New trailer for “Revenge of the Savage Planet crash” now available on YouTube

What happens when you combine the satirical spirit of filmmaker Mel Brooks and pack No Man’s Sky into a parody of the galaxy exploring? Something like Journey to the Savage Planet combines Ian Malcolm’s chaos theory of colonization? It’s a funny world-conquering blaster fest that proves that while also serving up a healthy dose of good old fart jokes.

Unfortunately, the game’s original studio, Typhoon Studios, was swallowed up and spat out in 2019 when Google shut down its Stadia Games and Entertainment division and all studios. Fortunately for us, some of those developers have reunited and formed a new organization called Raccoon. Logic raised investment funding from Tencent and took back the rights to the game for an all-new adventure.

A sequel called “Revenge of the Savage Planet” is set to release next May on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5, and a trailer was released during the PC Gaming Show.

Revenge of the Savage Planet seems to hold true to its roots as a comedic adventure game about a ruthless corporation battling the forces of nature across the galaxy to expand its territory to call its own. The trailer features the return of Martin Tweed, the ruthless CEO of Kindred Technologies. The trailer also features a new FMV character called Gunther Harrison. This is another ruthless CEO of a rival company called Alta Interglobal, who looks like a cross between Megamind and Morbo from Futurama.

The new game can be played in solo or cooperative mode. You’ll have a chance to uncover secrets, fight alien beasts, and build your own colonies on these worlds. There’s also plenty of flying slime, mindless violence, and a savage attack on corporate colonization thrown into the mix. If that’s what you liked about the first version, it looks like Revenge of the Savage Planet has even more to offer.
