New symbiote hero arrives in WEB OF VENOM one-shot

With Marvel set to release the Death Spiral storyline next year, it’s safe to say that Marvel is fully committed to the symbiote. Case in point, the creative team of writer Jordan Morris and artists Ramon Rosanas and Luke Ross released the Web of Venom one-shot in April of this year.

Marvel readers probably know that a new red and blue Venom suit was recently introduced in Battleworld #3 with the appearance of Earth-8294’s Eddie Parker. The suit reappeared in Venom #252 earlier this month, with Mary Jane donning the costume as the all-new Venom. In this Web of Venom one-shot, the suit is adopted by the familiar Spidey character.

Official press release:

There’s yet another symbiote-wearing hero on the streets of Earth-616, sporting a red-and-blue Spidey-inspired look…but it’s no Mary Jane Watson or Eddie Parker. But it’s someone Peter Parker knows all too well… someone both he and Spider-Man have encountered many times… and someone who’s using this new web-slinging identity to make a long-awaited comeback! The story of the new red and blue alien costume takes a whole new turn, kicking the classic Spider character in a whole new direction. They’re never going to give up.

“It was so much fun working with the Symbiote Office on Eddie Parker’s otherworldly adventures in historic Venom #252!” Morris shared. “We can’t wait to tell another story that combines Venom Goose with red and blue, this time with 616!”

Morris teased the mystery, adding, “I don’t want to say too much about who’s wearing the suit this time around, but this is a deeper character that I’ve always loved (and I think many loyal Marvel readers do as well). I would say it’s an epic comeback that fans won’t want to miss!”

Web of Venom #1 features a main cover by Stefano Caselli that pays homage to the 80’s classic Web of Spider-Man #1. In addition, the issue features a variant cover by Pere Perez and a variant cover spotlighting Luciano Vecchio’s original costume design.

Web of Venom #1 is scheduled to arrive in comic shops on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.
