IDW Publishing is scheduled to debut Tales from The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles this October. The series will lead fans’ favorite characters from the streaming series into comics for the first time, making their debut in this animated universe along with the classic TMNT icon.
The series begins with two No. 3 arcs. The first story is written by Tales of Mikey Levitt, a member of the TMNT production team, and the second is written by Andrew Joustra, of the Mutant Mayhem team. Both stories feature the vibrant art of Louis Joyce (Godzilla: Skate or Die).
“Writing both the show and the comics opened up so many possibilities,” Levitt said. “And if you’re a fan of TMNT robot characters, you’re taking part in something special.”
Joustra replied, “It’s a dream to rethink my favorite character, Fugitoid, and tell an amazingly personal story through him. I had a lot of fun with this.
A lifelong TMNT fan, Joyce calls the project an “absolute dream” and promises a mix of humor, heart and action that captures everything fans love about the franchise.
Tales of the TMNT #1 will be at the Comic Shop on Wednesday, October 15th, with a cutoff for the final order being set on Monday, September 8th. Variant covers include artwork by Jon Lankry.
