Digital comics startup Neon Ichiban made a splash this week with the announcement of its partnership with Udon and Rebellion. And they added Legend Comics to their lineup.
The Legendary Comics library includes MonsterVerse titles (Godzilla vs. Kong, Skull Island), the Dune movie mythology, the world of Pacific Rim, and Legendary Comics’ original series.
“At Legendary, our mission has always been to tell bold, cinematic stories in every medium,” Robert Knapton, senior vice president and publisher at Legendary Entertainment, said in a statement. “Partnering with Neon Ichiban allows us to connect our comics and graphic novels with fans around the world through a platform that celebrates storytelling, artistry and innovation just as much as we do.”
“Legendary Entertainment has built worlds that define modern pop culture, from Dune to the Monsterverse,” said David Steinberger, CEO and co-founder of Neon Ichiban. “We’re excited to bring their impressive catalog and future releases to Neon Ichiban and give fans new ways to experience and collect these stories.”
“Legendary comics have always expanded the storytelling power of movies and series,” added Chip Mosher, CCO and co-founder of Neon Ichiban. “We are proud to feature their lineup on Neon Ichiban and offer fans around the world the opportunity to read, collect and participate in these epic worlds in a whole new way.”
Neon Ichiban is currently gaining momentum as a new player in the recently revitalized digital comics scene, including Dark Horse, DC, DSTLRY, Dynamite, IDW, Kodansha, Madcave, Marvel, Onipress, Titan, and Vault Comics. Comics will be available on the same day as the print version, as well as digital collections, limited editions, and sketch covers.
Legendary Comics has been on the scene for more than a decade, but it’s often under-the-radar. Maybe it’s time to reach out to those out there?
