Neon Ichiban announces remarques that can be entrusted

Neon Ichiban continues its gateway to the digital comic space with its long-standing features. Neon Ichban Remluk is a patent-pending feature designed to connect fans and creators of digital spaces.

Yes, this is another version of the “digital collection,” but as explained in the press release, the system has some new features.

Remarques allows creators to sign and sketch digital comics directly and convert each issue into a unique Collectible that Neon Ichiban has recognized. Unlike traditional signatures, Resold Edition continues to generate royalties for participating holders such as creators and publishers.

How it works:

Fans show the QR code associated with the Neon Ichiban Library problem or volume.

Verified creators scan the code on their devices and add digital signatures or sketches.

Collectibles are instantly authenticated and are permanently tied to that edition at the origin of the signature or sketch on that date.

Remarques can be resold in the market. The royalties of each resale become the rights holder

“I’ve been kidding for years about signing someone’s iPad, but now you can do it! I love that fans with digital collections can join in for fun.

The feature is rolling out today, and anyone who signs up for a pre-release waitlist can choose a free digital collection comic from a selection of 350 unique remarqued covers created by artists such as Tula Lotay, Becky Cloonan, Natalie Andrewson, Joshua Hixson, Patrick Horvath, and more.

The Remark system has some unique features, as mentioned above. It can be sold in the Neon Ichiban resale market. And come soon: commissionable remarques called cameo style models in comics.

Instead of asking fans and creators to meet live shows, artists can accept signatures and sketch requests on their own schedules, from anywhere in the world. For fans, it means global access to their favourite creators. For artists, commissionable remarques creates new revenue streams that allow creators to set their own prices, work on schedules, and connect without convention constraints.

“Digital comics prove that they cannot be printed. They provide creators with new ways to connect with readers while increasing the value of their work,” said David Steinberger, CEO and co-founder of Neon Ichiban, in a statement. “We have built a sustainable model where creators benefit not only when they were released, but also throughout the lifetime of their work.”

“This is just the beginning,” added CCO & co-founder Chip Mosher. “Neon Ichiban is live, and at Remluk we show how digital comics can really empower the people who make them.”

All of this will be discussed at the Neon Ichiban panel in NYCC on Thursday.
