Via The Hollywood Reporter, Oni Press has announced that writer and artist Matt Kindt will be transferring the copyright to Flux House to the publisher. Flux, which Kindt founded in Dark Horse in 2022, plans to start selling new and old books through Oni in 2026. Additionally, the deal will give Oni’s parent company, Polarity, access to Kint’s books and help develop films, television, animation, video games and audio based on his work.

“I wanted to keep all my books in a safe place, so I needed someone to take good care of them,” said Kindt. “All the artists I work with love making comics, and it gives us the freedom to continue doing our work.” Oni president and publisher Hunter Golinson previously worked with Kindt on BOOM!. On the resurgence of EC Comics by Studios, Bad Idea, and Oni, he emphasizes, “We at Oni want to put comics at the center of what we do. Despite the size of Flux House and our extensive dealings with Matt and his creators, we are not some kind of transmedia business. If we can’t make great comics and let comics stand on their own, why are we running a comics company?”
New books include the ongoing revival of Mind MGMT (2012-15), Mind MGMT: New and Improved Edition. It will be written and drawn by Kindt and will launch in June. The second book is Fort Psycho, a 12-issue maxi-series co-produced with Brian Hart, said to be a cross between Mission: Impossible and Lost. The film follows “a disgraced strike team who end up in a tropical paradise filled with trained killers, secret betrayals, and long-buried truths about the mission that brought them there.”

Gorinson says, “It may sound pretentious, but (‘Fort Psycho’) is like a Watchmen -level book, taking the archetypes of ‘G.I. Joe’ and ‘Mission: Impossible’ and tearing them down in new and inventive ways that build up like a Swiss clock building for a huge finale.” Kindt added, “I think every book I’m working on is the best book I’ve ever written, and it just might be the best book.” “Fort Psycho” begins in August and will be followed by the anthology “Flux House Presents” in late 2026.
Meanwhile, Kindt’s final creator-owned series at Dark Horse, the three-issue Space Scout (co-produced with David Rubin), debuted on November 5th and is scheduled to be recorded in hardcover on May 26, 2026.
