Microsoft begins testing Copilot Vision on Edge

Microsoft is giving a preview of one of the experimental AI features it previewed in October. Copilot Vision, which scans your web browsing and chats about it, can be tested at Copilot Labs.

The co-pilot’s vision is severely limited, at least initially. This only works in Microsoft Edge and only on “select websites.” (The company says it will carefully expand that list over time.) The trial version also has limitations. Available to a limited number of Copilot Pro ($20/month) subscribers in the US. As with the available websites, Microsoft plans to expand access to more users over time.

Microsoft says Copilot Visions sessions are “opt-in and temporary” and must be manually activated, and each session’s data is erased as soon as it is completed. The company says the feature only interprets the text and images from the websites it visits; it doesn’t process any further content or is trained on data from web publishers.

This cautious approach appears to be a course correction from the company’s sloppy recall launch. Its “Photo Memory” feature, which takes screenshots of everything you do on your PC, has outraged security and privacy experts, prompting Microsoft to leave the feature’s data unencrypted, in a puzzling decision. asked. After three delays and security adjustments, Windows Insider is finally available for trial.

If you are a Copilot Pro subscriber, you can sign up today and request access to Copilot Vision through Copilot Labs. Check out Microsoft’s demo video below.
