“Merry Anti-Christmas” from “TOUCHED BY A DEMON” by Gudsnuk

Kristen Gaznak’s new limited series “Touched by a Demon” will be released in January, and today The Beat is giving you a sneak peek of scenes perfect for the holiday season. In a sense.

Touched by a Demon, written and illustrated by Gudsnuk, is a four-issue horror-comedy series about a lesser demon named Bifrons who misses Heaven and seeks salvation to return there. Here is a synopsis of the series from publisher Dark Horse:

A lesser demon named Bifrons, dissatisfied with tormenting souls in hell and longing for the peaceful days he lived in heaven, attempts to find salvation by opening a life coaching agency in the human realm. Bifrons, with the help of his assistant Zuzu and an abominable soul named Elaine, is determined to help humanity save souls, hoping that perhaps if he does enough good deeds, God, by divine mercy, will grant him a second chance…but can an evil being really change its nature?

In the preview below, the Bifrons attend an anti-Christmas party.

“I wrote ‘Touched by a Demon’ because I’ve always been fascinated by how we often fail to become the people we want to be; the tension between the uncontrollability of human nature and our desire to be better than we are,” Guznak said.

“Fronds is a low-level demon, a fallen angel who thinks he was more advanced by now and is beginning to regret his life choices. His trusted assistant Zuzu supports Fronds’ dream of returning to heaven, even if he isn’t all that keen on actually helping humans. Their clients are fellow lost souls who are battling their own inner demons.

“This comic takes inspiration from a variety of things, including various self-help books, my own ill-fated forays into behavior change apps, and a mysterious TV movie called 12 Christmas Wishes for My Dog. I’m so excited to be making another comic for adults!” she concluded.

Touched by a Demon #1 will be available digitally and at your local comic shop on January 21, 2026. Pre-orders are available now.
