At San Diego Comic-Con 2025, Marvel pulled back the curtains of the next in the vast universe saga during the next Big Thing panel. Following a few months of teaser, the publisher confirmed that Imperial, a four-part event by Jonathan Hickman, will announce a bold new era of Space Furling Marvel Story, set in five brand new ongoing series debuting this fall.
The first wave of titles announced by editor-in-chief CB Cebulski, executive editor Tom Brevoort, and authors Stephanie Phillips and Jed Mackay include:
Each series has been seeded through one-shots of the upcoming Imperial War and will begin rolling out in November. The first was the planet She Hulk, written by Stephanie Phillips along with the art of Aaron Cooder, and Nova: Centurion and Jed Mackay wrote that it was art of Alvaro Lopez.
On the planet She-Hulk, Jennifer Walters finds himself stuck on Sakaar. But Jen isn’t the blues, and maintaining peace amid witches, rebels and cannibalism may require more than just muscle. As Phillips puts it, “Think about Game of Thrones with the power of Gamma.”
Meanwhile, Nova: Centurion casts Richard Ryder as a passive galactic mercenary. With Xandarian’s globally oriented legacy and corruption across the stars, hanging in balance, Nova left to fight a good fighting solo.
According to Brevoort, the new status quo combines major alien empires like Kree, Shi’ar and Skrull into one huge, layered sci-fi epic.
Cover art for both Aaron Kuder and Alessandro Cappuccio’s debut issue has also been revealed, with details of the other three series coming soon.
Preparing for Lift-off: Marvel’s universe is about to explode.
