In this world, Doug Ramsey, the heir to the Apocalypse, rules the mutant utopia while the rest of the earth is wrapped around it from the devastating X-virus. SAGA begins with Jed Mackay and Ryan Stegman’s X-Men: Age of Revelation Overture #1, and branches out into 16 interconnected Issue 3 miniseries and special anthology. All these threads rapped in December before X-Men: Age of Revelation Finale #1, bringing explosive conclusions and setting the stage for a major change in today’s X-Men story.
As executive editor Tom Breboat explained on Monday, this is the “What If” future: “All of these are legitimate futures. This is not a world of What-if. These things exist even in the current characters.” He teased that January and beyond bringing new solo titles, returning favorites and bringing new spotlights to bystander characters.
