Marvel will shine a new light on “1776” #1 Celebrating America •aipt

Advances the 250th anniversary of America, Marvel Comics will release a bold new limited series in November 1776. The Five Islands Epic is written by comic book legend J. Michael Strakinski and features artwork by fan favorite illustrator Shawn Damien Hill, who was praised as a fan-favorite ronrim.

First announced to retailers during San Diego Comic-Con, 1776 brings together a unique team of Marvel Heroes sent in time to the birth of the American Revolution. So they join forces with historical figures such as George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and John Adams to ensure that history does not change. Combining superhero action with real-world history, the series explores how maintaining the events of 1776 is not just the future of America, but also the Heroes’ highly vital survival.

“Revolutionary warriors gather together!”

As unknown threats begin to unravel important moments in American history, the Captain America and the Marvel icon team must act quickly to protect the establishment of the United States. The stakes never went high as the heroes navigate the unstable past to maintain the future they know.

Straczynski explained his enthusiasm for the project, saying, “One of the things I’ve always loved about Marvel is the foundations of the real world. This story explores 1776 through the eyes of our characters, and in today’s divided climate, it was a powerful time when we came, and its beginnings still have meaning.”

In 1776 there is a main cover by Pete Woods and a variant cover of Problem #1 by top tier artists such as Joe Quesada, Paulo Sicailla and Stee Roud. Additionally, Phil Jimenez contributes to a special variant that pays homage to one of the best-selling comics of the 2000s, Amazing Spider-Man #583.

Check out the preview art and pre-order 1776 #1 at your local comic shop. For more information, please visit Marvel.com.
