Fantastic Four: First Step, the first film in the MCU featuring the reboot of Marvel Studios’ much-loved superhero team and Marvel’s first family is scheduled to arrive at cinemas on July 25, 2025.

The film stars Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us) as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, the leader of the Fantastic Four and Supergenius scientist. Vanessa Kirby (Mission Impossible: Fallout) plays the head of his wife Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, the team’s future foundation, and the head of the public face. Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things) plays her brother Johnny Storm/Human Torch, while Evon Moss Bachalach (Bear) plays Reed’s best friend, Ben Grimm. The film is set in a retro futurist world inspired by the 1960s. There, Fantastic Four is a beloved celebrity known for her charity. Their world is thrown upside down with the arrival of Galactus (played by witch Ralph Inneson) and his Herald, Silver Surfer (played by Ozark’s Julia Garner).

The new film comes in parallel with a big push in favour of the Fantastic Four after the team’s turbulent 2010. They are the focus of the current world under the Doom Crossover event, highlighting their roles in the highly popular Marvel Rivals video games, with many of their most iconic stories being reprinted for new readers. The new trailer focuses on Sue Storm’s pregnancy and tells more about the film’s setting and story, including the arrival of Silver Surfers and the lead’s struggle to deal with his responsibility to save the world. It looks like a very fun hell and seems to understand the source material very well. It has a very Jack Kirby style that looks torn from the cartoon. And I really love it as a longtime fan of the team.

The film is directed by Matt Shakman and features scripts by Jeff Kaplan, Ian Springer, Josh Friedman, Cameron Squads, Eric Pearson and Peter Cameron. The brand new trailer can be seen below.
