Marvel Comics is excited about Spider-Man’s number change, as evidenced by the new cover released today. Joe Kelly, Pepe Larraz, and John Romita launch The Amazing Spider-Man #1 on April 9th, accompanied by a very good cover from Simone Di Meo.
“This is my first great Spider-Man cover!” DiMeo shared. “It’s already a huge honor, but it’s even better to be part of the launch of a new work by three legendary creators who I’m also a huge fan of. Joe, Pepe and John are amazing in this series. I’m sure they’ll do the job. I’ve been watching all their work for years, and they know how to weave a web properly. I can’t wait to read it!”
This is a return to Marvel for Di Meo, who has been working for DC for several years, most notably on covers for Batman and Robin. DiMeo continued, “I’m really excited to be working with Marvel again. I’m filled with pride and excitement to be working with some of the world’s most iconic characters and the projects we’re building together. It’s a dream. It will be a while before I can talk about it, but I hope the fans will enjoy it. The team and I are doing our best to create something unique. This is a new artistic challenge for me, but I love challenging myself!”

New York, NY — January 14, 2025 — Writer Joe Kelly and artists Pepe Larraz and John Romita Jr. begin a new era of The Amazing Spider-Man this April. To celebrate the year’s most anticipated launch, the debut issue features a variety of covers by today’s top talent, including Eisner Award-nominated artist Simone Di Meo. The cover, depicting Spidey gracefully swinging across a skyline, is a stunning example of Di Meo’s vibrant, athletic style. The first Marvel cover in nearly five years marks DiMeo’s exciting return to the House of Ideas, following franchises such as Champion and The Immortal Hulk.
