Marvel Comics kicked off its New York Comic Con 2025 consumer program on Thursday with a “Spider-Man and His Violent Friends” panel. Editor-in-Chief CB Cebulski, Vice President and Editor-in-Chief Nick Lowe, Senior Editor Jordan D. White, and Writers Al Ewing and Joe Kelly previewed the summer 2026 event and revealed some of the creative team working on The Amazing Spider-Man Annual. (2026) #1.

It looks like the Queen in Black event, which kicks off next summer, will drag at least part of the Marvel Universe to Hel, the final resting place of the dead of the Ten Kingdoms, ruled by none other than Hela. Or perhaps it’s more appropriate to say that Hell will take over the Marvel Universe, considering the teaser image proclaims, “Hell reigns.” pique our interest.

But first, Marvel will publish Amazing Spider-Man Annual (2026) #1 in January, featuring an all-star creative team. The one-shot will be written by Saladin Ahmed, Joe Kelly and others, with art by Federico Visentini.

According to the solicitation, this issue will feature “Rapid Responder! Spider-Man unveils his new speedster Rapid in a friendly neighborhood! Rapid has a lot to learn about the superhero game! But the training wheels come off when Screwball livestreams death and destruction across New York!”

In February 2026, Marvel will release the “Alpha One Shot” which will kick off a new Spider-Man and Venom crossover, The Amazing Spider-Man/Venom: Death Spiral. Written by Joe Kelly, Al Ewing, and Charles Soule with art by Jesus Sais, Death Spiral is a spin-off from the events of The Amazing Spider-Man, Venom, and Eddie Brock: Carnage, which took place from February to April 2026.

According to the solicitation, “A new super-powered serial killer is on the loose, targeting Spidey, Venom, and everyone in between. But what terrible secret has Carnage learned, and what does it have to do with Spider-Man?! Don’t miss the next chapter of this spider-symbiote story in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man and Venom!”
