After making his screen debut last summer in Thunderbolts: The New Avengers, played by Louis Pullman, Marvel has announced that Bob Reynolds, known for his role as Sentry, will be returning in a new four-issue miniseries written by original co-creator Paul Jenkins and new artist Christian Rosado.
The character’s current status has constantly changed over the years. Earlier this month, Sentry apparently returned to the pages of Marvel: Black, White & Blood and Guts #3. The first issue of this miniseries will feature a main cover by Alex Malef. This is also available as a Virgin variant cover, along with variant covers by Francesco Mobili, CAFU, and Marvel’s Stormbreaker CF Villa.
Details of the official press release are below.
He was an Avenger, a Dark Avenger, and a Thunderbolt! Now the Sentry is back – but so is the Void!
A bold, high-stakes epic about Marvel’s most dangerous hero, Sentry, a man with the power of a million exploding suns, and the Void, a dark entity born from his own mind. When the Void resurfaces and threatens to unravel reality itself, the Sentry must battle not only alien forces and criminal empires, but also the monsters within. A story of impossible choices and devastating consequences, with guest appearances by Reed Richards, Spider-Man, and Kingpin. Will Sentry be able to save everything when it might cost him everything he holds dear?
“I’m very proud and excited to be returning to Marvel after a long hiatus,” Jenkins said. “Even better, I get to work again on the character I created – the Sentry, the golden guardian of good who means so much to so many people. I can’t express my gratitude beyond words to my amazing editors Mark Paniccia and Lauren Amaro, as well as CB Cebulski and the entire staff at Marvel. Dear True Believers, I’m back!”
The Sentry #1 (OF 4) will be available in comic shops on March 18, 2026
