Marvel is going big with small sizes – tonight, ahead of NYCC, they announced the launch of Marvel Premiere Collection, a line of reader-friendly size reprints of Marvel’s biggest hits.
Like DC’s Compact Comics, which have been huge hits with retailers and readers alike, the Premier Collection will be in a 6″ x 9″ format.
The news was announced at a Marvel press event where publisher Dan Buckley spoke.
The Premier Collection will launch in February 2025 and feature stories featuring Daredevil, Black Panther, Captain America, and the Fantastic Four.
This size is designed for those looking for the perfect entry point into the Marvel Universe, or for those looking for the most definitive and archetypal stories behind Marvel’s most popular characters. ” Marvel said in its PR, hinting at the ultra-portable yet highly readable format. And the stories chosen are certainly some of the most compelling in Marvel’s long history, designed to intrigue new readers.
“We’ve all heard the age-old question, ‘Where do I start?’ What’s that can’t-miss run? “What should I read before or after a movie or TV show? The Marvel Premiere Collection program is our answer to each of these questions,” Dan Buckley, president of Marvel Comics and Franchises, said in a statement. “Comics are at the heart of everything Marvel does, so this collection will be the go-to publishing line for any fan looking for a way to dive into the Marvel Universe, or even deeper. Of course, these titles are the only It’s not the starting point, but it will be one of the best titles.
